Do-It-Yourself Magic Band Decorating Ideas

So you’ve booked your hotel, tickets, and dining plan and your Magic Bands have arrived, now what? Decorate those babies! You heard me, do it! Let the kids help, unless you’re a control freak like myself. In that case, wait until everyone leaves the house then do it yourself.

But where do I start?

Magic Bands are my favorite type of Mickey Mail because I love decorating them. Now I’m going to share my top 5 do-it-yourself decorating tips for your Magic Band. These are cheap, inexpensive ways I like to decorate our bands while saving a little bit of money.

Where are my tattoo artists?

Yeah, that isn’t me, but y’all are awesome.

Anywho, my favorite method for magic band decoration is tattooing. Whaaaaaat??? I know what you’re thinking, that’s crazy! But temporary tattoos work AMAZINGLY well on magic bands. They look awesome and as long as you have a top coat of sealer (i.e. clear nail polish), they’ll stay forever.

Plus you can get a ton of tattoos for CHEAP. We still have books full of tattoos that we haven’t had a chance to use yet.

Amazon has some great tattoos to choose from. For one price, you get about 75. You’re definitely not going to use 75 for one magic band that means you’ll have enough to use at the parks!

Not Your Grandma’s Puff Paint

I know what you’re thinking – do you mean that stuff my grandmother used to decorate shirts? Why yes, yes I do.

I love the way puff paint looks on magic bands. It gives them a POP. Especially if you use the metallic colors. I actually use this in addition to the tattoos a lot of times. Silver even looks like pixie dust.

Who doesn’t like a little bling? I mean, I’m sure someone doesn’t, but it’s not me. If it’s shiny, I’m there.
I used adhesive backed gems that stayed on well. If you’re worried that they’ll come off you can always add a little glue.

Here’s one of Emma’s that I blinged out.

For Emma’s, I had some left over gems laying around, but Amazon has 900 for a great price. I also found some glue that looks like it would work well to hold everything together.

Find Your Inner Artist

Why not paint them? Now, I’ve been known to dabble in the paint business, but I can’t hold my hand still enough for something this small. BUT I’ve seen other people make beautiful works of art on their bands.

These are some of the brushes I’ve used in the past for smaller designs. I LOVED them.

Plus who doesn’t like glitter paint.

The Easy Way Out

I’m an over committer, and I’m not afraid to admit it.
Sometimes in the crazy game of life, we just don’t have the time to do EVERYTHING. There are simpler ways to add a little magic without breaking your wallet – enter charms!

Amazon has a great selection and reasonable prices.

I hope I’ve shed a little light on the fun ways to decorate your magic band.

Don’t be intimidated, and don’t be afraid to try something new. Honestly, it’s really hard to mess up Magic Bands.

I know it might seem overwhelming, but once you get started it just kind of flows.
